How to increase revenue and profitability by using the internet in your business

By Conrado Adolpho

Entrepreneurs from corporations of all sizes are aiming their attention at the virtual world in order to understand how the internet is changing the routines of their consumers and collaborators and, especially, transforming the dynamics of the market and competition.

Digital media has become the dominant form of communicating, seeking information and entertainment, not to mention working and consuming. In a few years, companies without a digital culture in their DNA will be quickly replaced by others that dominate the interactive behavior of consumers in the new millennium. This seminar will demonstrate how to integrate an interactive culture into strategic retail planning and how to confront a market in constant mutation.

Conrado Adolpho is a multimedia advertising consultant. He studied at ITA, Unicamp and IBTA, and has degrees in Marketing and Economics. For more than 10 years he offered courses and worked for marketing agencies. He has studied philosophy, mathematics, communications, engineering, physics and chemistry. He is a director of Publiweb Digital Marketing – one of the largest search marketing companies in the country, a partner in several purely virtual companies and one of the first professionals in Brazil to be certified by Google as a “Google Qualified Individual.” He sold the most marketing books written by a Brazilian in the country in 2008 and, along with Philip Kotler and Paco Underhill, is author of the book “Google Marketing,” the 4th most popular marketing book in Brazil. Social commerce and the gains for the jewelry market

By Martha Gabriel and Liliane Ferrari

In recent years, we have witnessed a dizzying growth in online social networks. Despite appearing to be something new, social networks have existed since 3000 B.C, when people gathered to talk about common interests around a fire. The transformation of social networks through history has been leveraged by the evolution of communications and information technologies, and found its greatest catalyst in the participative platform of Web 2.0. Social networks become extended in space, both in terms of ours and interactions, because response times are reaching the limit of being instantaneous. For its part, trade also goes back to antiquity, but through the web it has become projected in time and space – reaching any location, 24x7. The term Social Commerce refers to the use of social networks with the purpose of stimulating trade. The combination of digital online social network platforms and e-commerce could bring significant benefits to retail. The seminar covers the concepts involved in social commerce, showing its importance as a trend in the current scenario and explains how to develop strategies focused on the jewelry market. Examples of success cases will be used to illustrate the presentation.

Martha Gabriel is an engineer (Unicamp), has postgraduate degrees in Marketing (ESPM) and Graphic Design (Fine Arts, SP), a master’s degree and is completing her doctoral degree in Arts (ECA/USP). CIO of NMD New Media Developers, winner of 11 iBest Awards between 1998 and 2005 for web development. Professor of MBA courses at BSP Business School São Paulo, Anhembi Morumbi University, UFPR Federal University of Paraná. Speaker and author of articles for diverse congresses in the areas of technology, marketing and art in the United States, Europe and Asia, she has received three awards for best speaker at technology congresses in the US (2003, 2004 and 2008). An artist, whose works have participated in expositions in Brazil and abroad, such as: FILE, Videobrasil, FIAT Exposition Brazil, Nokia Trends, SIGGRAPH, CHI, UPA, Chain Reaction, ISEA and Florence Biennial (winner), among others. Reviewer of the Leonardo Electronic Almanac (LEA), MIT, 2005, and Networked Book, Turbulence.org, 2009. Author of two books on digital marketing – “Web Search Optimization Marketing: Concepts, Techniques and Strategies,” Ed. Esfera, 2008, and “SEM and SEO – Dominating Search Marketing.” Curator of Upgrade! São Paulo.

Jewelry sales through the internet

By Conrado Adolpho

According to a report published by Folha Online, fashion items and accessories, sports and leisure and jewelry are all gaining space in the preferences of online consumers. Purchases of these products rose 108%, 145% and 55%, respectively, in October 2009, compared to the same period the year before.

Jewelers need to restructure to meet the growing demand, which brings innumerous benefits: lower costs (virtual stores do not need physical space), customer satisfaction (products and services personalized according to profiles), expanded sales (24-hour attendance, 7 days a week), among others.

Targeted to all who wish to transform their company site into a sales tool for the web or to receive proposals and make contacts, the seminar will demonstrate the elements necessary for a site to become a true sales tool for products and services and not just a business card on the Internet.
